About Global Youth Forum
The World Bank Group (WBG) and its Global Partnership for Youth in Development organized the Global Youth Forum 2016, in Washington, D.C. on June 13-15, 2016. The Forum addressed topics of fundamental importance to young people in the process of development, including the building blocks of education, health, and employment; the context-setting issues such as climate change, migration, and technology; and the areas where policymakers are most concerned with young people: voice, governance, peace, and violence.
The Forum also encouraged and built upon the active participation of young speakers. Each plenary session included the voices and views of young people and elicited new ideas from young social entrepreneurs and activists.
The event was an avenue to promote the cause of PM Hub which is at the core of creating a critical mass of highly skilled and job-ready young professionals and disrupting the West African corporate space. The Human Capital Development, HCD Centre of PM Hub has developed a presence in 15 tertiary institutions, 4 states in Nigeria and 3 West African Countries. The even gave an opportunity to extend the discussion the partners and collaborators on the newly launched business incubator, VC Lab which helps young people start new enterprises, creating platforms for business growth and attract start-up funding and mentorship.
